Description
25 Graham Place in Stromness is a house dating from the earlier to mid 19th century, with later alterations and additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay (five-bay at ground level) rectangular-plan structure that features a single-storey pitched addition to the left, forming the western side of a small square. The exterior is cement-rendered and lined.
On the east (principal) elevation, there is a deep-set, part-glazed timber panelled door with a small-pane fanlight located in the central bay at ground level. Above this, there is a blank round-arched panel, and a window at the first floor. To the right, there is a window on each floor. The left bay has a blocked window with former shop windows flanking it at ground level, and a window above at the first floor. Additionally, there is a blocked doorway with a picture window flanking to the left in the pitched addition.
The first-floor windows are 12-pane timber sash and case, while the ground floor features 2-pane and shop windows. The roof is covered with grey slate, has a stone ridge, and concrete skews, with harled coped gablehead stacks to the north and corniced stacks to the south. The property has uPVC rainwater goods.
The interior was not seen during the last inspection in 1997.
