Stanley House, Victoria Road, Dullatur

Stanley House is a double villa located on Victoria Road in Dullatur, likely designed by Robert Turnbull in 1875 or 1876. The building is individually detailed and symmetrical, constructed from stugged, coursed ashlar with polished dressings and chamfered reveals. Each side of the villa features three bays with a central door, segmental arched and canopied porches supported by stylised pilasters. The inner windows are bipartite with corbelled cills at the first floor, while the outer windows are canted, separated by a fluted band between the floors. All windows are plate-glass sashes, and the ground floor lintels have curved chamfers that are lipped at the first floor. The eaves and lintel band are flush, with bracketted eaves and battered end and axial stacks, most of which still have their original ornamented pots. The roof is covered with piended slate. Additionally, the boundary wall along the roadside has been partly rebuilt.
