Description

Probably Charles S S Johnston, 1897 (dated). Single storey village hall with Baronial details; double pile with pitched roofs; crowstepped gables with ball finials. 3 bays to Main Street with tripartite stone mullioned and transomed windows, string course above; entrance bay to R with timber door in Tudor arch, plaque above inscribed 'IRP 19th December 1873, 19th January 1893, Erected 1897' (see Notes). Small lean-to single bays to E and W. Squared and snecked blonde sandstone; dressed margins.

N (REAR) ELEVATION: 4 bays. 4-light mullioned and transomed window to centre L gabled bay; flanking bipartite windows; small window to outer R.

Non-traditional UPVC windows replacing timber sash and case plate glass windows. Graded grey slates; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: little of interest. Carved timber Renaissance style plaque with religious inscription.
