Description

Bog Hall is a later 19th century house that incorporates mid 18th century farm buildings with later alterations. The house is a two-storey, three-bay structure arranged in an L-plan, featuring a projecting, flat-roofed enclosed porch at the center and slightly advanced bipartite windows on either side. There are three windows on the first floor. The exterior is rendered with exposed, dressed ashlar margins and rusticated quoins. At the rear right, there is a later wing that forms a U-plan, along with a late 20th century timber addition situated between the wings.

The windows are timber sash and case, with 12 panes on the first floor, lying panes at the ground level on the gables, and 8-pane bipartite windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, featuring sawtooth skews, coped ashlar end stacks, and moulded octagonal clay cans.

Inside, the house has a cast-iron balustrade on the central stair, timber panelled doors, and decorative cornices, although the chimneypieces have been replaced.

To the rear, there are former farm buildings that likely date from the mid 18th century, with later additions. These original single-storey and loft structures are arranged in an L-plan, with additional infill creating a U-plan. They served as accommodation for farm workers and include a splayed, corbelled chimneybreast, built-in slate shelves (likely for salt), and a press recess, with lofts that were formerly above. There is also a former byre and stable, which has been altered, along with a mounting block outside.
