Description
65 High Street in Irvine is a two-storey, three-bay office building dating from the later 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar sandstone and features a base course, a two-tier banded dividing frieze, an impost course, and a decorative corbel table beneath the eaves cornice and blocking course.
The elevation facing High Street includes four segmental-headed, stilted openings that are separated by polygonal shafts on pedestal bases. To the right, there is a doorway with a stone-studded cavetto surround, a field-panelled door, and a plate glass fanlight. The windows to the centre and left have nailhead panelled aprons.
On the first floor, there are three windows with moulded shoulder-arched heads.
At the rear, there is a gabled projection with a lean-to outbuilding attached at right angles at ground level. The building features plate glass glazing in timber sash and case windows, grey slates on the roof, and an ashlar gablehead stack on the left, which is truncated at the rear gablehead.
