Description
3 Hill Street in Irvine is an early 19th-century building that has undergone mid-century alterations. It consists of a pair of two-storey terraced houses, each with six bays. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar margins. Each house features three bays, with a central door flanked on the right by a bay that has a window on each floor, and on the left by a bipartite window at ground level, which has stone mullions.
Number 3 has an additional bipartite window above, while Number 5 has two single windows above. The houses have four-pane timber sash and case windows with eaves at the first-floor lintels, and they are topped with grey slate roofs. The property is set against a setted foreground and a paved street, and it is part of the Hill Street Conservation Area.
