Shop, Invercloy, Brodick

Invercloy is a late 19th-century shop and flat that stands two stories tall. It features bull-faced red sandstone coursers with ashlar dressings and a slate roof. The building has single and bipartite windows with chamfered jambs and quoined architraves, framed in timber sash and case. Notable exterior details include decorative bargeboards and a corniced stack.

The front elevation is classically detailed, showcasing a stained timber door at the center of the shopfront, which has a modern door and plate-glass windows with a multi-pane top light. The shopfront is flanked by pilaster strips and angles, although the right angle is missing. It is adorned with decorated Ionic pilasters, a dentilled and corniced fascia board with consoles at the angles, and a segmental pediment at the center. On the first floor, there is a gable to the left with a bipartite window featuring a decorative keystoned overwindow detail, and to the right, a single window with a gabled dormerhead.
