Barony Church Of Scotland, Arran Place, Ardrossan

The Barony Church of Scotland, located on Arran Place in Ardrossan, was designed by Black and Salmon, Architects from Glasgow in 1844 and showcases Gothic architectural style. The church has a rectangular plan with gables at both the east and west ends, featuring an elaborate, projecting eastern tower topped with a spire. The eastern façade is made of polished yellow sandstone, while the side elevations are constructed from rubble.

At the east entrance, there is a central door with a pointed head, above which is a triple light window. This window's central light consists of two lancets and trefoil tracery. The first stage of the tower has shallow gables, with a square clock tower rising from the center. Clasping buttresses at all angles are capped with gabletted pinnacles, creating a lively silhouette. The facetted spire includes two tiers of lucarnes on four faces and is adorned with a ship weathervane.

The main body of the church consists of six bays, each featuring pointed arched windows with Y astragals and window margins, all beneath a slate roof.
