West Kilbride Railway Station

West Kilbride Railway Station, likely designed by James Miller around 1900, is a long, single-storey building in the Arts and Crafts style, featuring six irregular bays. The station has a mannered rubble plinth with harled brick above. The platform side is vertically boarded and includes projecting shelter screens and a canopy. The entrance front is asymmetrical, featuring a projecting open gabled porch on the south side with a battered rubble plinth and timber framing above, supported by semi-scrolled double brackets that frame a semi-circular entrance. The building has single and three-light windows, with the latter breaking the wallhead and topped with timber-framed gables. The roof is covered in red tiles and includes a small gablet ventilator and battered stacks with wide curved copes. A short retaining wall with tapering, domed gatepiers connects the station building to a simple ancillary building at the south end of the platform, which shares similar detailing.
