Description

Law Castle has a simple oblong plan and shares a similar character with Little Cumbrae, Fairlie, and Skelmorlie castles, all located in the same area. The castle is situated on a hill that overlooks the village and is believed to have been constructed around 1468 to accommodate Princess Mary, the sister of James III, upon her marriage to Thomas, Master of Boyd, who later became the Earl of Arran.
