Description
North Lodge and Gate Piers at Blair Park in Dalry, dated 1858, is a single-storey lodge designed in a cruciform plan. It features stugged ashlar with ashlar dressings, a plinth, and raised quoins. The south-east side has a central gabled bay that is advanced and topped with a ball finial. This bay includes a canted window with mullions and transoms, a cill course, and a coped parapet that is raised at the center. The windows have lying-pane glazing. The lodge has a cornice with a parapet on the flanking wings and a square date-crest in the pedimented gable. The roof is slate, with a central panelled, corniced stack. The square gate-piers are larger on the inner two, each topped with ball finials. There are rectangular decorative cast-iron gates at both the main and side entrances.
