Description
Burnfoot Hall Lodge and Gatepiers is a mid to late 19th century single-storey lodge with a cruciform plan, situated on a steep bank with a basement at the rear (east). The building is constructed from squared, stugged, and coursed rubble, featuring ashlar dressings and splayed reveals.
The symmetrical west elevation includes a door with a fanlight set in a gabled inner porch, flanked by narrow lights. There are single sash windows with lying panes in the outer bays. The lodge has projecting eaves and a central apex stack with diamond flues, topped with piended slate roofs.
The gatepiers are panelled and square, capped with pyramidal tops. The outer piers are connected by curved quadrant walls, all made of ashlar. Wooden pedestrian gates complete the entrance.
