Description
Pennersaughs old Churchyard is a quadrangular churchyard located on the north side of the A74. It features notable 18th and 19th century stone monuments, some of which have elaborate sculptures. The churchyard is situated on a steep bank on the north and west sides, while the other sides are enclosed by a low wall made of rubble with ashlar coping. There is a modern gate and gatepiers at the western end of the southern wall, and earlier gatepiers on the eastern wall that are square with pyramidal caps and an iron gate. The site also includes the remains of Pennershaughs Church.
