Description
This is a two-story building with an attic, dating from the later 19th century and located at 81, 83, and 85 Main Street, Kilbirnie. The exterior is painted render with ashlar detailing. A central recessed door is sheltered by a pilastered doorpiece. The right bay features a shop with a window that has been enlarged, while the left bay has a blocked door, a blocked doorway, and an enlarged shop window. The first floor has four sash windows, three of which retain their original 12-pane glazing. An eaves course runs along the roofline. A modern dormer window has been added to the right side, and there are end chimney stacks topped by a slate roof. The butcher's shop on the right side includes ceramic tilework designed by J. Duncan.
