Description
Struan Cottage is a probably 19th-century Hebridean-type thatched cottage located in Malacleit, Sollas, on the Isle of North Uist. The cottage is single-storey with a three-bay east front featuring a central door. There is a single window in the center of the west wall. It has thick battered walls with curved angles, which are limewashed. The cottage has end chimney stacks and a marram thatch roof with a continuous thatched ridge, netted and weighted along the eaves by stones secured to the netting.
Currently, the cottage is used as holiday accommodation. To the east, there is a thatched outbuilding, built before 1967, which serves as storage.
