Description

Stynie Farmhouse is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic, three-bay house facing east, with a single-storey and attic rear wing. The exterior is harled with tooled and polished ashlar dressings and features long and short quoins. The slightly advanced centre bay has a pediment and is defined by quoins. The central door is framed by a corniced pilastered doorpiece, while the outer ground floor windows are also corniced. All windows on the east elevation have moulded margins, and the symmetrical two-bay return gables have simple margins. The house has 12-pane glazing, two modern front dormers, and an additional single two-window box dormer on the rear wing. Coped end stacks and slate roofs complete the exterior.

Inside, the main public rooms feature 1930s panelling and chimney pieces. The house is surrounded by rubble garden walls.
