Description
Speymouth Parish Manse is a house built between 1732 and 1733. It is a symmetrical, two-storey building with five bays, facing south, and features paired outer bays. The exterior is harled with contrasting painted ashlar margins. The central door is obscured by a modern glazed porch, and the windows are narrow, with small attic windows located at each return gable. The house has scroll skewputts, coped end stacks, and a local slate roof.
At the rear, there is a late 18th century two-storey, three-bay wing that includes long first-floor windows that once lit a drawing-room, a ridge stack, and a piended slate roof. The main building has predominantly 12-pane glazing throughout.
Additionally, there is a long single-storey and loft rear wing, which was originally a stable and gighouse from the late 18th century, now serving as a service area and garages, featuring two modern garage doors.
Inside, the manse contains fielded panelled doors and window shutters.
