Description

North Pier at Burghead Harbour was designed by Thomas Telford and constructed between 1807 and 1810, with a later angled extension and jetty added. The pier is built from tooled squared rubble with tooled dressings. The northern face features a high stepped sea wall that has a pulvinated string course on the seaward side. At the extreme end of the pier, there is a small later whitewashed concrete beacon.
