Description
5 Admiralty Street in Portknockie is a house built around 1910. It is a single-storey building with an attic and has three bays. The structure is made of rubble with contrasting painted concrete dressings. The central entrance features a hoodmould and a panelled door that has a convex centre rail. On either side of the entrance are shallow, chamfered segmental-headed bipartite windows, and there are canted wallhead dormers with modern glazing. The house has coped end stacks and a slate roof, which is adorned with red pottery ridge tiles and shaped finials at the tops of the dormers. The original rainwater goods are still in place, featuring decorative cast-iron rhone brackets.
