Description

Charles C Doig, 1894, alterations to ground floor shop

front, also by Doig, 1962. Classical. 3 storeys and

attic, 7 bays. Ashlar, rubble flanks. Centre door with

open pediment, 6 flanking shop fronts with alternate

channelled piers, continuous fascia and cornice. Flat

giant pilasters defining centre 3 bays; moulded

architraves to all windows, lugged and corniced at 1st

floor. Cornice and die parapet broken by 3 pedimented

dormers; octagonal turret with leaded bell-cast roof at

bowed Culbard Street angle. Similar height, 6-bay

elevation to Culbard Street.
