Description
No. 41 and 41B, Conicavel, is an early 19th century single-storey and dormerless attic former symmetrical pair of west-facing, two-bay cottages, now functioning as a single dwelling. The building is constructed of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. It features ashlar canopied entrances in the outer bays, with the left (northwest) entrance blocked and converted into a window.
A rubble rear wing, added in 1985, forms a T-plan and rises to full height, with a bipartite window in the centre of the east gable and an entrance in the south re-entrant angle. The windows have 4-pane glazing, and the building has chamfered ashlar angles with run-off stops at wallhead height. The original central ridge features a hexagonal coped stack, and the roof is jerkin-headed, covered with graded local slate, deep ashlar soffits, and some modern skylights.
