Description
The Pittendreich Bridge, dating to around 1814, is a single arched structure spanning the Lochty Burn. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The arch itself is formed of chamfered and channelled voussoirs creating a shallow curve. Rusticated ashlar buttresses flank the bridge, and blind oculus windows are set within the spandrels. A short, central pilaster strip rises from the parapet above the band course. The bridge is flanked by splayed abutments topped with ashlar cope stones. According to the Annals of the Parish and Burgh of Elgin (1879), page 57, the bridge crosses the Lochty Burn.
