25 Croft Street, Dalkeith

25 Croft Street is a mid-19th century, three-storey, five-bay tenement. The building features squared and coursed stugged rubble, with the remaining elevations pebble-dashed. The ground floor has concrete raised cills.

On the south elevation facing Croft Street, there is a door with a three-pane strip fanlight at the center, and the other bays have regular fenestration. The northeast elevation also has a regular arrangement of windows. The west elevation is blank. The east elevation is pebble-dashed and is above the adjoining block of Nos 27-35 Croft Street, which has separate listings.

Most of the sash and case windows have a 12-pane glazing pattern, while the ground floor on the south elevation features plate glass. There is a modern broad flat-roofed dormer window behind a pebble-dashed former wallhead stack at the center of the north pitch. The building has coped skews, rendered and lined gablehead stacks, and a shouldered stack to the east. The roof is covered with grey slates.
