Description
6 and 8 Anderson Street is a mid-19th century, two-storey, five-bay tenement that forms part of an irregular terrace. The building is constructed from coursed, heavily pointed and lined rubble, featuring raised ashlar margins and dressed quoins, with an eaves course.
The west elevation is symmetrical, with three recessed steps leading up to a deep-set boarded timber door that has a two-pane fanlight above it, flanked by windows in the adjacent bays. The first floor has regular fenestration close to the eaves, with four-pane glazing in timber sash and case windows, as well as top-opening windows. The roof is covered with traditional clay pantiles, and the building has coped ashlar stacks and ashlar-coped skews.
