Description
5 Edinburgh Road is an early 19th-century terraced house that stands two stories high and has four bays, being one of a pair with its contemporary neighbor, No 7 Edinburgh Road, to the west. The building is constructed from painted, squared, and coursed rubble, with painted margins at the ground floor and a cill course at the first floor that is continuous with No 7.
On the north elevation facing Edinburgh Road, there is a door located to the left of center, and a broad display window in the outer left bay. The fenestration is regular on both the ground and first floors. Above the two left bays at the ground floor, there is a wooden shop sign.
The south elevation is adjoined to a gabled block at the rear of No 93 High Street and 1 Edinburgh Road, while the east elevation is adjoined to No 3 Edinburgh Road, which is the Full Gospel Church. The west elevation features a mutual gable with No 7 Edinburgh Road, and the sash and case windows have a plate glass glazing pattern. The building has coped skews to the west, harled stacks, and a truncated stack to the east, with a tall mutual stack that has a truncated block at the rear to the west. The roof is covered with red pantiles.
