Description

Roseneuk is a semi-detached house located at 9 Park Road in Dalkeith, built in the later 19th century. This single-storey and attic structure features three bays. The east elevation is constructed of stugged ashlar, while the remaining sides are made of rubble with ashlar dressings. It has a base course and stop-chamfered margins, as well as stone mullions.

On the east elevation facing Park Road, there is a central door with a raised surround, cornice, and blocking course, leading to a panelled door and a two-pane fanlight. The outer bays have advanced panels with cornices and blocking courses, with a tripartite window on the right and a bipartite window on the left.

The north elevation is adjoined to No 11 Park Road. The south elevation features a window on the first floor, situated above a modern garage.

The house predominantly has a four-pane glazing pattern in its sash and case windows, with two-pane side lights in the tripartite window. Above the outer bays, there are two slate-hung canted and piended dormer windows, along with a rooflight at the center. The roof has coped skews that are mutual to the north, and there is a gablehead stack on the south and a mutual stack on the north. The roof is covered with purple-grey slates, and some original cans remain.
