Ellon Cottage, 15 Park Road, Dalkeith

13 Park Street in Dalkeith is a pair of single-storey houses built in the later 19th century. Each house has three bays, with No 13 on the left and No 15 on the right. The east elevation is made of ashlar stone, while the other sides are constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings. The building features a base course, a moulded eaves course, and raised margins, with chamfered margins that stop before the cills of the windows and raised angle margins.

On the east elevation facing Park Road, each house has a central door adorned with a bracketed cornice and an angled tablet, leading to a panelled door with a plate glass fanlight. The outer bays of each house contain bipartite windows.

The west elevation shows both houses with three bays and gabled outer bays. Each gable has a window on the first floor, with a stair window located in between.

On the north elevation of No 15, there is a small window at the centre of the ground floor and another small window to the left in the gablehead, along with a set-off and shouldered chimney breast.

The south elevation of No 13 features a small window to the right in the gablehead. Both houses have sash and case windows with a 4-pane lying-pane glazing pattern. Each house has three rooflights on the east pitch, coped skews that meet at the centre, and bracketed skewputts also mutual at the centre. The rendered and lined chimney stacks are located at the gableheads on the north and south sides, meeting at the centre, and the roofs are covered with purple-grey slates. The original rainwater goods are still in place.
