Description
Memorial Bridge in Ironmills, Dalkeith, was designed by Charles Henry Greig in 1913. This foodbridge runs on an east-west axis and features a single span with a segmental arch. It has swept steps leading up from the west and steps descending to the east. The bridge is constructed of harled concrete with ashlar coping. It includes a hooped iron balustrade with ball and nailhead detailed newels on both the bridge and the steps. The plinths are blocked with raised concave coping, and the voussoirs are lined and painted. The keystones are off-centre, positioned to the left to the north and to the right to the south.
