Description
The Railway Bridge on Ferry Road in Edinburgh, designed by Grainger and Miller around 1840, is a significant structure that carries Ferry Road over the former Edinburgh, Granton and Leith railway line, which is now a cycle track. The bridge is constructed from bull-faced coursed sandstone, with a smooth finish on the parapet and the inner arch. The spandrels are radially treated, and the bridge features a depressed-arched opening that is flanked by battered pilasters. The entablatures of these pilasters continue as parapets above.
