Description

The Railway Overbridge on Cemetery Road in Dalkeith was built in the mid 19th century. It is a narrow bridge oriented on a north-south axis. The bridge features saddleback coped stugged ashlar piers and a wrought-iron plate girder. It has massive cast-iron parapets that are 11 bays long, with inverted nailhead panels separated by panelled pilasters and raised semicircular blocks.
