Description
This is an earlier or mid-19th century cottage, built as a single-story, T-plan. It is constructed of harl-pointed rubble with rubble dressings. The front, facing southwest, has three bays. A projecting, piended porch sits centrally, with a side door partly obscured behind it, and contains 4-pane glazing. There is a central chimney stack and a single chimney stack at the rear wallhead. The gables are canted, with a piended slate roof. The cottage occupies a site that was formerly an iron furnace and smelting location, situated on the shores of Loch Maree. The statutory address is Letterewe Furnace Cottage.
