Strathview, Strathpeffer

Strathview comprises a pair of late 19th-century semi-detached houses, designed as asymmetrical two-storey and attic dwellings. The south elevation presents a four-bay facade, with the outer bays bowed and rising the full height of the building, linked by central balconied bays. The houses use coursed rubble construction with contrasting polished ashlar dressings.

Each house has a mirrored facade on its east and west sides, featuring a gabled and arcaded porch on the east side. These facades are each three bays wide, with a central doorway and a large, full-height bowed bay on the south side of the entrance. A canted wooden oriel window, beneath a bargeboarded gable, is situated in the first floor to the north of each entrance. The gable head of these oriels exhibits moulded jambs and panelled detailing. Small, flat-headed dormers are found in the slated, piended roofs of the bays. Two-pane glazing, with a chequered leaded and coloured pattern, remains in the upper lights of these windows. Single flat-headed dormers are also present on the east and west sides. Corniced ridge and end stacks rise from the building, and topped by a slate roof.
