Description
The Old Ferry Inn is a house dating from around 1800. It is a two-storey, three-bay building with a central doorway, constructed of whitewashed rubble stone. It has four-pane sash windows and end chimney stacks, topped with a slate roof. A single-storey, six-bay range extends from the east gable, and incorporates a later gabled porch. A wide basket-arched entrance is located in the right-hand bay of this wing, which is also whitewashed, features a ridge chimney, and has a slate roof. The building is similar in style to the Old Inn in Sleat, designed by James Gillespie Graham between 1801 and 1803. The single-storey wing was originally stables, but is now used as a pottery.
