Description

Kylerhea Slipway, built by Thomas Telford in 1821, is a dressed whinstone slipway that serves the Kylerhea Ferry and was previously used for cattle drives. There is a counterpart slipway located on the opposite bank of the Kyle Rhea at Glenelg.

The slipway features large dressed whinstone blocks laid in courses that slope down into the water. It is paved with stone setts, although it is currently covered with a concrete screed added in 2009. To the south of the slipway, there is a coping rubble approach road retaining wall that adjoins the slipway.
