Duncraggie, Golf Road, Brora

Duncraggie is an asymmetrical house built between 1911 and 1913 by Sir Robert Lorimer. It has two storeys and an attic, arranged around a courtyard. The building features a squared rubble plinth with harl above and tile hanging on the two-storey canted bays. The front elevation consists of four bays, with the centre right bay featuring a two-storey projecting porch topped with a Dutch gable. The other bays have two-storey canted windows that are recessed into the main wall.

The east elevation includes a polygonal ground floor window at the south, along with two additional projecting bays that have been significantly altered at the ground floor. The west elevation has a projecting south bay and a tall stair window on a long recessed section. The courtyard is partially filled at ground level.

Inside, much of the original panelling and plaster ceiling decoration remains. There are chimneypieces in the hall, dining room, and lounge that feature Renaissance detailing. A wide stair leads to a spacious landing, and some tiled fireplaces are still present on the first floor.
