Footbridge, Brora Station

The footbridge at Brora Station, dated 1895 and likely designed by architect William Roberts, is a single-storey, six-bay station building with a shallow U-plan. It features tooled rubble with tooled and polished ashlar dressings. The platform frontage has advanced and gabled outer bays that are connected by a valenced canopy supported by fluted and bracketed cast-iron columns. Each outer gabled bay has a mullioned and transomed window beneath a shaped hoodmould that encloses a monogram or datestone. The rear elevation includes transomed windows and tripartite windows with varied glazing. The building displays pronounced skewputts, a coped wallhead, and ridge stacks, topped with slate roofs that have decorative red pottery ridges. The footbridge, also likely from 1895, is a standard Highland Railway cast-iron structure that spans the railway track and features a lattice balustrade.
