Description

45 Olrig Street in Thurso is a pair of two-storey, three-bay houses built in the late 18th to early 19th century. Each house features a central door and is rendered with painted tooled ashlar margins. The ground floor windows are taller, and the buildings have ridge and end stacks topped with an artificial slate roof.

No. 43 has three symmetrical first-floor windows at the rear with 12-pane glazing. No. 45 has four-pane glazing and includes a single-storey, three-bay extension on the west gable. The front is bordered by low, coped rubble retaining walls that are complemented by later 19th-century cast-iron spearhead railings. There are also two later 19th-century tooled ashlar octagonal gate piers with octagonal caps, along with similar end piers. High rubble garden walls flank the property.
