Road Viaduct, Leven Road, Kinlochleven

The Road Viaduct on Leven Road in Kinlochleven was built in 1929 and features a 10-span design with a curved plan that slopes downwards to the east. It is supported by pairs of plain piers connected by beams at the apex. The structure is made of reinforced concrete, with the roadway cantilevered slightly on both sides. The balustraded parapet displays incised lozenge shapes and is punctuated by tapering piers that have recessed panels and pyramid caps. The third span from the east and the fifth span from the west have cross-bracing on the outer north face, with the eastern section dated 1929 at the center of the cross. There is also a single diagonal brace beneath the roadway on the eastern side. The long parapetted abutment at the east end terminates in piers, with the northern pier dated 1929, while beyond the final span at the west end, the parapet also terminates in piers. Short splayed coped abutments are built into the embankment below.
