Description
Rhynie is an early 19th century, two-storey and attic house with a raised basement, originally five bays wide. The house is harled with ashlar margins. The wider, projecting outer bays feature corniced tripartite windows on the ground floor and smaller windows with blind outer lights in the basement. The narrower, recessed central three bays contain a corniced central doorway, approached by splayed flights of steps with an original decorative cast-iron balustrade, and a panelled door. A single, later piended dormer is situated in the centre of the roof; the windows have four panes of glass. A later wooden oriel window, serving as a drawing room light, has been added to the ground floor on the west gable, and corniced end and ridge stacks rise above the roof, which is slate. A later 19th century wing extends to the rear of the property.
