Mcfaid's House And Farquhar House, Hamilton House, Fearn

This is a house, originally built in 1825, with additions made in 1841, 1857, and 1871. It is now divided into three separate dwellings. The house is two storeys and has an attic, with three bays. The exterior is mostly harled (rough-cast) with ashlar stone detailing around the edges of the windows and door. Later bipartite (two-part) windows have been added to the ground floor of the west bay. Dormer windows, each with a piended (hipped) roof, break through the roofline. The windows have 12 panes of glass in the front, and 4 panes in the side and rear windows. A classical portico, supported by fluted Corinthian columns, stands at the west gable entrance. This portico is a re-used feature from a demolished property in Dingwall. A wing extends to the rear of the building, and there are corniced (detailed) chimney stacks. The roof is covered in slate. A single-storey and attic wing has been added to the east gable and is significantly altered.
