Description

Kilphedir Bridge is a single-span rubble bridge dated 1820 and situated over the Allt Cille Pheadar burn. The bridge is constructed of rubble with a dressed rubble arch ring containing an inset date stone, displaying the year 1820, on the south face. Shallow end buttresses and a dressed rubble parapet are present, alongside splayed approaches. A worn datestone featuring the Sutherland family crest – a wild cat – and the motto "Sans…" (originally “Sans Peur,” with the final word now worn) is visible at the base of the stone. This crest represents the Sutherland family motto.
