Description

Tain United Secession Chapel, built in 1839 and remodelled by architect William Mackintosh from Inverness, is a simple rectangular building with four bays. Constructed from coursed dressed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings, it features a long east elevation that includes two large round-headed windows flanked by two smaller ones. The outer bays have round-headed doorways, while the centre has a narrow door that is blocked on the left and centre. The chapel has an eaves band, straight skews, ball finials, and a slate roof.
