Invergordon Free Church And Church Hall, Castle Road, Invergordon

Invergordon Free Church and Church Hall, built between 1859 and 1861 and dated 1860, is a Gothic-style building with a symmetrical, cruciform layout. It features a very tall spire on the south gable. The exterior is constructed of stugged, sneck coursed rubble with polished ashlar dressings.

The entrance is pointed-headed and recessed, located at the base of a central square tower that has diagonal buttresses. Above the entrance is a Gothic window with geometric tracery. Each face of the second stage of the tower has three louvred lancets, and the octagonal stone spire is topped with a weather vane and includes lucarnes. A turret stair is situated in the southwest angle.

The church has three-bay flanks, with the southeast and southwest bays rising into gables that feature traceried Gothic windows. The second and third bays have paired lancets with alternating buttresses. The northeast and northwest transepts are supported by diagonal buttresses and have large Gothic windows that match the detailing of the other windows.

The Church Hall, dated 1864, is located at the north gable of the church.
