Description

Harold's Tower Mausoleum in Thurso was built around 1790 to 1798. It is a hexagonal structure with crude pencil turrets at each angle, which rise through the wallhead to blunt-headed pinnacles. The exterior is harled, featuring a simple wallhead parapet with primitive crenellation. Behind the parapet is a shallow pyramidal slab roof. There is a central plaque on the south elevation above a blocked centre door, with the current entrance located just off-centre on the south face.
