Description
Trevor Tower is a circular three-storey structure with a flared base, built in 1827. It features a slightly projecting castellated parapet and a rectangular stair-turret, also with a castellated parapet, topped by a flat roof. The tower is constructed from irregular, random tooled ashlar stone, with raised string courses between the floors. The copings on the parapets are a slightly darker colour.
On the southwest side, there is a plain doorway with a 'Gothick' traceried overlight and a square hood moulding, while a second inserted doorway with timber moulding is located on the northwest side. Each floor has rectangular windows that include masonry hood moulding, timber central mullions, and 16-pane 'Gothick' tracery. A rainwater head on the southwest side is embossed with the date '1827'.
The interior and roof were not accessible during the inspection. The timber on the ground floor is mostly rotted away, and there is a spiral staircase leading to the roof. Additionally, there is a sub-rectangular basement with a recess on the west side that provides access to an underground passage, which is now blocked, leading to Trevor Tower Cottage.
