Description
Plas Ifa is a 17th-century building featuring a rubble stone north elevation with squared quoins, a slate roof adorned with red clay ridge tiles, and two rebuilt brick gable chimney-stacks. The structure is two-storey with a two-unit plan and an entrance that is offset to the right. There are two windows on each floor, all with brick segmental arches, which are irregularly spaced and have been renewed. The doorway has a massive stone lintel and a modern half-glazed door.
The west elevation is also made of rubble stone and includes a single-storey attached outbuilding. The east elevation features a single renewed window on each floor, both with brick segmental arches. The symmetrical south front has been rebuilt in yellow brick and includes a date stone inscribed 'J.J. 1865' in the central gablet. This elevation has a two-storey, three-window range with 12-pane windows and a central door with a semi-circular fanlight on the ground floor, while the first floor has 9-pane outer windows and a 6-pane central window. A modern timber verandah has been added to the south side.
Inside, there is a 17th-century beam in the northeast ground floor room, which is carved with foliage and pomegranates. The building is said to have originally been a half-timbered house.
