Description

Church Cottage is a circa 1840 cottage, with some later alterations and additions. It is a single-storey, four-bay building facing north. The exterior is harled, with painted, tooled ashlar margins. A door is positioned off-centre, sheltered by a small, pedimented portico supported by painted timber piers and topped with a wooden finial. Flanking the door are windows with consoled cornices, and the easternmost window has a bracketed cornice. Some original lying-pane casement windows remain. Two coped ridge stacks are present, as is a piended slate roof with projecting eaves. The frontage appears to have been built in two phases. The statutory address is Church Cottage, Kirkton, Dochfour.
