Description
This barn, dating to circa 1800, was originally a hay and threshing barn. It's constructed of rubble stone. The barn measures approximately 54 feet by 16 feet. It features a pair of winnowing doorways in the centre, as well as vents along the sides and ends. The roof is piended and covered with corrugated iron. Records indicate that the barn was formerly a cruck barn. Reverend A. Downie, Minister from 1791 to 1821, is noted to have built several creel-barns on his farm. Remains of a circular horse-walk are visible to the west.
