Description

Plodda Cottage is a single-storey cottage, built around 1860, with a cruciform plan. It was designed by A & W Reid. The exterior is constructed of harl-pointed rubble with tooled rubble dressings. A gabled porch is situated in the re-entrant angle to the right of the south gable. There is a three-light window in the south gable, and smaller windows elsewhere. The windows have lattice pane glazing. The roof is slate-covered, with a coped central ridge stack, and decorative bargeboards and turned finials to the gable apexes. Drawings of the cottage are among the Guisachan Estate plans. The cottage fronts a lane that leads to Plodda Falls.
