Description
Husabost House, located on Skye, is a house originally built around 1800, featuring two storeys and three bays. It has undergone later additions that created a cruciform plan. A large two-storey wing was added around 1840, which projects from the centre of the east front of the earlier house. There is a square projecting crenellated porch at the re-entrant angle formed by the two arms of the building. The rear (west) elevation of the old house includes a two-storey, two-bay wing, along with small single-storey wings at the gable ends. Some 12-pane glazing remains intact, and the house has end stacks and slate roofs.
Inside the 1840 addition, there is a dining room with a drawing room above it. The drawing room features a coved, enriched plaster ceiling, and there is a small curved stair with a slender handrail.
